Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, has declared a seven-day national prayer move in response to the rising wave of insecurity across Nigeria.

The respected cleric made the announcement during a special church session, urging Nigerians from all walks of life to unite in intense prayer and fasting for peace, stability, and divine intervention in the nation.

The spiritual exercise, scheduled to begin immediately, will climax with a nationwide day of fasting and prayer on Monday, 24th November 2025.

According to Bishop Oyedepo, the situation in the country has reached a point where military operations, intelligence efforts, and security reforms must be supported with strong spiritual backing.

He emphasized that no nation can survive on physical strategies alone without acknowledging the need for divine help. During his address, the bishop expressed deep concern over the escalating attacks, kidnappings, and widespread fear that have gripped many communities, especially in Borno State and other parts of the North.

He noted that Nigeria’s security challenges have gone beyond conventional solutions and require a united spiritual intervention to restore lasting peace.

Oyedepo explained that the seven-day prayer movement is not for Christians alone but for all Nigerians who desire a peaceful and prosperous nation. He stressed that the call was a patriotic response to a national emergency, urging religious leaders, civil society groups, and citizens to put aside differences and join the spiritual effort.

Throughout the seven days, members of the Living Faith Church are expected to gather across their branches worldwide, praying specifically for the restoration of peace in Borno State, the protection of security personnel, and divine comfort for families affected by violence.

Other prayer points include wisdom for national leaders, unity among citizens, and the total dismantling of criminal networks across the country. The bishop further warned against hopelessness, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast and believe that positive change is possible.

He assured worshippers that God hears the cry of a united people and that the nation will rise again if citizens commit to heartfelt intercession. The announcement has already sparked reactions across social media platforms, with many Nigerians expressing support for the initiative. Some described it as a timely call, especially as insecurity continues to threaten daily life, economic activities, and national unity.

Others commended Oyedepo for using his influence to rally citizens toward a peaceful solution to the crisis. As the nation prepares for the prayer movement, religious communities and advocacy groups have also begun mobilizing their members to participate.

For many, this spiritual exercise offers renewed hope, reminding Nigerians that unity both spiritual and national, is a powerful tool in confronting the challenges facing the country.
