Global soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo met U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on November 18, marking the Portuguese superstar’s first public U.S. appearance in over a decade.

The encounter occurred during a high-profile state-like visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), with Ronaldo attending both bilateral meetings and a lavish black-tie dinner.

Accompanied by fiancée Georgina Rodríguez, Ronaldo was among elite guests including FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and top U.S. officials.

Trump warmly praised the 40-year-old Al-Nassr forward, noting his son Barron is a “big fan” and joking that introducing them earned him more respect at home.

The White House shared viral photos and videos, captioning one handshake POTUS & Cristiano and a walking clip “Two GOATS. CR7 x 45/47” referencing Ronaldo’s No. 7 and Trump’s presidential terms.

Ronaldo, who recently told Piers Morgan he wanted to meet Trump to discuss “world peace” and called him someone who “can change the world,” fulfilled that wish.

Ties to Saudi Arabia – where Ronaldo plays for PIF-owned Al-Nassr – aligned with MBS’s visit focusing on investments, Abraham Accords, and relations.

Trump highlighted the upcoming 2026 World Cup (co-hosted by the U.S.), with Ronaldo set to make history in his sixth tournament.

A signed Portugal jersey from Ronaldo to Trump earlier this year read: “Playing for Peace.”The star-studded evening ended with Ronaldo snapping a selfie alongside Musk, Infantino, and others instantly going viral.

This crossover of sports, politics, and diplomacy underscores Ronaldo’s global influence beyond the pitch.
